Nope, not so fast.
As it tends to happen - you don't pick up a cam for years, zero activity, gear gets sold off, etc. Then finally post a status update reflecting it. And then there is the sudden urge to start again. Ehh.
So I was thinking of slowly starting to ramp up again. But. Now that DA has also succumbed to that modern interface usability trend best described as a "designed for parrots by someone on a heavy WiDoW overdose", I don't know really. This horse has been beaten to death already, and I am not the one to pass any judgement here, is it good, bad or whatever.
But lately, more often than not, I get the urge just to fire up another VM, install some simple gallery, or a NextCloud instance or whatever, put a default dark theme on it and just post the pics there.
But okay, let's see how it goes.
p.s. Case in point, was wondering why it won't let me save this very little rant? You need to type something into the title box! Otherwise it is all greyed out Usability - we've heard of it.
Devious Journal Entry
This was way overdue, but I was too lazy to login here /grin/. I am putting all the old crap in storage for the time being, as I have mostly stopped participating in this photography business (in plain English - wasting money). In the unlikely event that I decide to revisit some of those crappy edits, I might re-enable some of the nature related stuff. Or (most likely) separate it by genres and into different accounts and/or make a simple gallery elsewhere.
So, thanks for all the fish, and all that.

p.s. Actually, I already had some of that stuff shot earlier, just did not realize what I was onto there, and missed the point almost completely. Those who look and do not see, or some such comes to mind.
A technical side note: As I was faffing around with edits, it occurred to me, that the bloody jpg-s do a very poor job at compressing the lower bits (shadows) in the pictures, which may result in banding and those freaky square compression artifacts. Especially as nowadays I down-convert everything destined for the web to sRGB for compatibility reasons. Switching to a lossless png-s seem to have fixed the problem, though I'm a bit miffed if they carry any meta-data and color profile info now.
Anyway, in Firefox you can set the gfx.color_management.mode parameter to 1 (type about:config in address bar and search for parameter name in that list), or Install a Color Management addon and set "All Images" option there.
